According to Jost, NBC jokingly diagnosed him with leprosy due to the injuries and illnesses he sustained during his coverage. Jost’s troubles began with a nasty toe injury sustained while surfing in Teahupo’o, Tahiti. This injury led to a staph infection, followed by an ant infestation in the wound.
